MAKE IT 都合がつく、(時間に間に合うように)到着する
- To make it to a place or event is to be able to be there or to arrive there.
- make it は、ある場所やイベントに行くことができる、または、時間までに、そこに到着する、という意味です。
- (on the phone)
Could we reschedule our appointment for another day? I'm afraid I won't be able to make it this afternoon. - We're having a dinner party at our house this Sunday. Do you think you can make it?
- (college students)
a: Did Lori make it to class today?
b: No, she overslept again. - We made it to the station a few minutes after five.
- I hope we make it there in time. I really don't want to be late.
