Such gargantuan vessels are fitting symbols of the vast scale of the global economy. And Japan, to a degree found in few other countries, has staked its wealth and security on this global exchange of goods. So let's begin a week of transnational commerce by introducing you to the word that sums it all up!

Explanation

  • To trade (verb) is to buy and sell goods and services.

    The noun form is also trade.
  • 動詞の trade とは、商品やサービスを売買する、つまり、取引する、という意味です。
