- To hype (verb) something, such as a product or event, is to try to get a large number of people interested or excited about it by advertising it a lot or in a sensational manner or by talking about it a lot in the media.
The noun form is also hype. - hype (動詞)とは、製品やイベントなどについて、大いに、または驚くべき方法で宣伝したり、マスコミで何度も話題にするなどして、たくさんの人に興味を持たせたり、夢中にさせたりしようとする、つまり、誇大に宣伝する、という意味です。
名詞形も hype で、誇大広告、という意味です。
