Happy Halloween!

Well, there's nothing spooky or macabre about this week's theme. In fact, it really comes down to just two simple letters: C and O. Put these letters side by side and they mean "together", which explains why we like to call the four words we're introducing this week "The Four Cs of Teamwork." Letters working together, people working together - sounds like a great way to do business!

Today's Lesson CATEGORY: 和製英語
COOPERATE   協力する

Explanation

  • To cooperate with someone is to work together with them for a common purpose.

    The noun form is cooperation.

Be Careful! When you want to say ご協力をありがとうございました, it's more natural to say "Thank you for your help" or "Thank you for all your hard work" than "Thank you for your cooperation."
  • cooperate は、共通の目的に向けて、誰かと一緒に働く、という意味です。

    名詞形は cooperation で、協力、という意味です。

注意:「ご協力をありがとうございました」と言いたいときは、Thank you for your cooperation. よりも、Thank you for your help. や Thank you for all your hard work. と言う方が自然です。
