Here's an edition that's sure to be "good for you"!
IS (3 o'clock) GOOD FOR YOU? / CAN WE MAKE IT (4 o'clock)?
- When suggesting a time to meet or talk with someone, you can ask Is (time) good for you?
When suggesting a different time than what's already been arranged or suggested, you can ask Can we make it (time)?
Be Careful! Both of these expressions are slightly informal. Is (time) good for you?
Can we make it (time)?
- a: Is next week good for you?
b: I think so, but I'll have to check my schedule to be sure. - a: What day is good for you?
b: How about Monday? I'm available anytime after 2:00. - a: Is 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday good for you?
b: No, I'm afraid I'll be busy all morning on Tuesday. Can we make it Wednesday, instead? - Sorry, but tomorrow isn't good for me. Can we make it later in the week?
And how about you? Is tomorrow good for you? Great! Then it's a date!
