For Life

Watch out for falling water!!

Today's LessonCATEGORY:

  • A waterfall or falls is a part of a river or stream that drops or flows rapidly from a high place.

Be Careful[1]! We do NOT use the singular form “fall” to mean waterfall.

Be Careful[2]! In names, we usually use the word Falls, NOT Waterfall.

  1. The waterfall drops 110 meters straight down.
  2. It was a difficult two-hour hike to the base (= bottom) of the falls, but it was worth it.
  3. While we were in New York, we took a short flight to Niagara Falls and flew over the falls in a helicopter!
